Why we started...

Khadijah founded For Our Women, (F.O.W) Foundation of Hope in 2018 as a place dedicated to supporting and empowering BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) girls and women (inclusive of Trans women, and persons who identify as women or girls).

Khadijah noticed not many educational programs or organizations were solely dedicated to supporting and empowering us, within our own community.  So she created a space.  F.O.W. Foundation aspires to be the support system within communities that will help women and girls who experience hardships and inequities such as suffering abuse, financial distress, discrimination, neglect, mental health concerns, experience trauma or lack of access to suitable employment and education opportunities.

In wanting to create a space for women and girls to gain access to support and build the confidence needed to take control of their future, F.O.W. Foundation was formed.  Khadijah strongly believes that when we invest in ourselves we also set up future generations to succeed.

By providing resources and support in these areas, and building a strong network of ties to us and from us, we build ourselves up.  F.O.W. Foundation helps to provide access and information to new and existing programs already available to the general public.

By becoming an avenue of support we help change the path of women who just need an opportunity and someone to believe in them. It is a beautiful feeling when we know someone is rooting for you to win.

Khadijah is an entrepreneur and a scholar, she attended York University, where she successfully obtained a degree in Gender & Women Studies and Human Rights & Equity Studies. She currently attends Windsor University pursuing a Master's degree in Social Work with a specialization in Public Health.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
